Registration for certification courses at the 2019 ILEETA Conference March 18-23, 2018 at the Union Station Doubletree in St. Louis, MO. Please note that if you are not registered for the conference within 24 hours of your certification registration that registration may be cancelled. You need not have paid for the conference only registered.
Cost: NO COST for this class.
This course covers the AR-15/M16 platforms and provides hands-on instruction on how to diagnose and repair malfunctions, return firearms to military specifications, perform function inspections, check headspace and more.
To cover as much as we can for you, we plan on a working lunch and ask that you bring food and drinks for the day.
Please bring the following:
- 1. clear safety glasses or shatter proof prescription glasses MANDATORY!
- 2. small hammer
- 3. old bath towel for working surface / shop towel(s)
- 4. small - medium size safety pin (to remove gas rings)
- 5. 1/8 inch pin punch
- 6. 3/16 inch Allen Wrench – Length 4 “ to remove cap type pistol grip screws, OR
- 7. long shank flat blade screw driver, 4" minimum to remove slot type pistol grip screws
- 8. roll of black electrical tape
- 9. small flashlight
For our out-of-town friends flying in…we will have extra screw drivers, Allen wrenches, pin punches, and safety pins, for all others, it is best if you can bring one of each.
Check the type of pistol grip screw in your rifle/carbine and you need only bring the screw driver or Allen wrench to fit it.

Protective clear safety glasses will be worn at all times and must be brought by the student. Shatter proof corrective lens are acceptable wear.
All students must bring to the class a .223 / 5.56 mm AR-15 / M-16 / M-4 type rifle/carbine for the class.
No rifles will be provided, unless otherwise arranged with the instructors.
Please do not bring any other caliber AR type firearm.
A D/I gas system (standard AR-15/M-16 gas system) is the focus of the class. If all you have is a piston rifle, contact me.
ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES will be strictly enforced and adhered to at all times.
NO LIVE RIFLE AMMO WILL BE PERMITED IN THE TRAINING AREA.
Jeff Chudwin served 38 years and retired as the Chief of Police for the Village of Olympia Fields IL. He has been a law enforcement officer since 1974 and continues as a sworn officer with the Peotone IL Police Department. Chief Chudwin is a founding member and president of the Illinois Tactical Officers Association (ITOA). A competitive shooter of over 35 years he designed and instructs a number of firearms training courses including; basic patrol rifle, patrol rifle instructor, designated marksman/advanced patrol rifle, 40 Hours Firearms Instructor, Firearms Instructor Update, Close Quarter Pistol, and rifle-pistol armorer courses for MTU’s state wide.
